The Truth

Today I feel like sharing a poem that I wrote last year in one of my classes. The assignment was to analyze the world and how people perceive it. I was having a difficult time when I wrote this and was feeling like I was running a bit thin, so this is what I wrote:

The Truth

Amongst the dark there is light

And time stands still

The places where the world meets the sky

Are too few and far between

Hope is like a distant star

We chase it and we wish upon it

But it never seems to get closer

And faith is all we have
